Rev. Nikki Raye Rice

Nikki-Raye Rice is a native of Hickory, North Carolina. She attended Gardner-Webb University as a creative writing major and then Duke Divinity School. Before serving at Wesley Chapel, Nikki Raye lived in an intentional community in Durham, NC called Friendship House, worked as a teaching aide for a special education program in Durham Public Schools, and participated as a lay member, preacher, and council leader at her church, Citywell.
Nikki Raye's ministry interests include intentional community, new monasticism, contemplative spirituality, the gospel-call to social justice and beloved community, as well as theology and disability. All of these intersect with her passions for scripture and discipleship.
When not serving in the church, Nikki Raye spends most of her extra time snuggling with her dog, Dudley, and spending time with her 7 nieces and 1 nephew. Other interests include: writing, hiking, hospitality, hot tea with her friends, and not taking herself too seriously.
